What's the role?

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer with expertise in Network Access Control (NAC) and experience in large SD-WAN environments for our Global IT team located in Buchs, Switzerland or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role you will help us to secure our corporate network by creating network visibility and access management through policy enforcement on devices and users. As part of our team, you will shape the future global network of Hilti by implementing cutting-edge network security technologies on a global level. In this role you will plan, build, and run the global NAC services at Hilti. As part of truly global a multicultural team you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of IT infrastructure engineers, application experts, and local IT specialists to provide reliable, cutting-edge and efficient network solutions.

What does the role involve?

As a Network Security Engineer for Network Access Control, you are responsible for planning, building, and running one or more global network security services. The current implementation of NAC will be your main focus. Along with other engineers you will be end-to-end responsible for the NAC solution, establish a proactive monitoring and policy lifecycle management process for NAC policies. You will work closely with our IT Security team definining, implementing new or updating existing policies, as well as analyzing and reacting to incidents. A secondary responsibility for SD-WAN will complete your engineering profile. You will actively drive our transition to Network Access Control and help us create a secure state-of-the art network, connecting over 1’000+ locations with over 30k+ users globally in a versatile and highly dynamic environment. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, roadmap definition, solution design, implementation, and third-level operations & incident/problem management. Along with other Hilti cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and external partners, you will provide innovative and reliable services – enabling our employees to connect to our customers and to offer excellent solutions and services to our customers worldwide.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Security or Engineering. Master or PhD are an advantage
  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience in designing and managing enterprise-wide access networks, with experience in Network Access Control and strong knowledge in at least two of the following: 802.1X authentication, SD-WAN, LAN (Aruba or CISCO stack)
  • A strong security mindset and understanding of network security best practices, standards and processes
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity for IT technologies including in-depth understanding of standard networking and security protocols
  • Ability to thoroughly analyze, handle and escalate security incidents
  • Excitement for new technologies, great learning ability & willingness
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and team skills in an international environment
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written)
