Global IT Project Portfolio Manager
What's the role?
We are looking for an IT Project Portfolio Manager to join our Global IT team. In this role, you will be responsible to control and steer all IT project investments and make sure that all resources are used in the best possible way. As a sparring partner for the IT leaders and project managers you will significantly contribute that the projects deliver value according to expectation. What does the role involve?
The Global IT Project Portfolio Manager is in charge of controlling and steering of Hilti’s IT project portfolio. You will regularly report the state and performance of the project portfolio to our IT Leadership Team and Hilti Top Management. In close collaboration with IT and business leaders you will review project demand from the early stages on and facilitate the systematic, fact-based selection and prioritization of IT and digitalization projects based on strategic and financial goals. This also includes the review of funding requirements and spend plans of proposed projects for accuracy and feasibility. Out of your position you will be able to provide the necessary transparency to identify dependencies across the projects and programs in the portfolio and resolve or escalate conflicts. Recurring alignments with project managers and IT leaders will allow you to validate and assess the project portfolio, align the need for changes, and re-prioritize as required. With your portfolio insights you will also be a key contributor in the rolling forecast process and IT controlling processes. It will be your task to further develop our project portfolio methodology, specifically key portfolio, and project metrics for decision making and that you will communicate to top-management level.

What you need is:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics, or related sciences
- 3+ years of experience in IT Program/Portfolio Management and IT Controlling in a large corporate environment
- Experienced in controlling of agile projects and DevOps setups, and skilled in the build-up and use of relevant PPM tools
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, combined with excellent communication and presentation skills, resilience and persistence, as well as passion for new technologies
- Hands-on mentality and the ability to work independently and proactively
- Fluent in English (verbally and written), additional languages are beneficial
