Digital Workplace Engineer – SCCM & Modern Device Management (m/f/x)
What's the role?
We are looking for a Digital Workplace Engineer, with passion for SCCM and Modern Device Management in a global environment with over 35,000 Windows clients and a growing fleet of mobile devices. We expect positive change and automation that supports our evolution from SCCM to a cloud-based Modern Device Management platform. You will work with technologies like Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Windows Autopilot and Delivery Optimization and actively drive the move to the cloud while maintaining our legacy environment (SCCM). What does the role involve?
Your primary focus will be taking the full ownership of Windows client management via SCCM at Hilti as well as to help us with the transition to Modern Device Management in the cloud. You will actively drive this transition to the cloud while also taking care of the SCCM based engineering for Windows upgrades, driver management, device imaging, and the certification of new Windows devices from HP, Lenovo and Dell. You will be working closely with our vendors, user group representatives, and Regional IT managers – from requirements gathering, engineering, rollout and training for 1st-3rd level support.
You will be working alongside other engineers and solution architects on different layers of the existing Windows infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving and creating quality solutions is essential for good delivery with outstanding and sustainable results. In addition, we provide the opportunity to grow further with us into modern device management, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

What you need is:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems / Technology or related fields or equivalent educational qualification with profound working experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Windows device management with SCCM based devices
- Experience in Windows Update & Upgrade Management as well as troubleshooting
- Ability to lead global major rollouts in the Windows Desktop area (e.g. Windows 10 20H2)
- Fluent in English and proven expertise in technical writing, vendor/stakeholder management, and professionalism while working under pressure
- A good understanding on security best-practices and processes
- Intermediate knowledge in related IT infrastructure field (network, identity management, software packaging)
- Certifications such as Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate and/or MCSA a plus
- Passion for innovation, critical analysis, and reporting
