Cloud Platform Engineer (for Amazon Web Services)
What's the role?
As a Cloud Platform Engineer (for AWS) you would be responsible for keeping the AWS based Hilti cloud platform (also known as Hilti Cloud internally) up and running all the time. You would be specialized in the AWS foundation services and customized platform solutions for hosting the one and only computing environment designated for Hilti customer-facing IT services.

What does the role involve?
You will work closely with product managers, solution architects, and software developers daily from different business units across services, and levels of the stack in Hilti Cloud. You will provide end-to-end professional support for requests such as provisioning of system environment or cloud services for software development activities, troubleshooting of issues that affect user experience, providing consultation on selecting the most fitting database products, etc. Operation-wise, you will ensure continuous optimization of the existing processes, in order to provide a high performing computing environment and prevent incidents through application of DevOps practices. You are responsible for evaluating and proposing new technologies and services that can improve the delivery quality, and implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.

What you need is:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering. Master is an advantage.
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, IAM, Lambda, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, etc.) and infrastructure automation
- Experience in enterprise level OSes (Linux, Windows Server) and database administration
- Excellent communication skills and motivated in a multicultural team located at different locations
- Ability to learn quickly
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
